Interactive Animation
Working with exhibit designers and multimedia programmers, we create animation for integration into interactive exhibits.
Our Hudson Home
The visitor to this exhibit uses a touchscreen slider to move the animation along a timeline. Four separate timelines illustrate different aspects of the history of the Hudson River Valley. Text at the bottom of the screen shows where the animation is in time, and explains significant events taking place. These animations were imported to Director as QuickTime movies.

Collide and Divide: Changes to the land.
Starting with a ball of molten rock four and a half billion years ago, this timeline shows solidification of landmasses, formation and breakup of Pangaea, ice ages and formation of the East Coast of the US.

Highs and Lows: Changes to the climate.
The timeline shown here begins 850 million years ago with the supercontinent known as Rodinia and ends in the present day with an apparently warming planet.

Evolution in Motion: Changes to Earth's inhabitants.
Starting three billion years ago with single-celled organisms, we move through early insects such as cockroaches, into fish, dinosaurs, and mammals.

Human Footprint: Changes to the environment from human activity.
The colonization and successive industrialization of North America, with hope for a cleaner future.
You can see some higher resolution images of these timelines here.
Touchwall Aquarium
The fish swim across six large screens placed side-by-side, the viewer touches a fish and relevant information pops up on the screen. The fish appear life size in the exhibit; some of them, such as the tarpon and manta ray, are over six feet long.
The fish were modeled, textured, rigged and animated in 3dStudioMax, then exported as Shockwave objects for use in Director.
